Did you know that the dresses of unconsummated marriage are a relatively new thing? It wasn 't until the marriage of the Victoria Queen in 1840 with her cousin, Albert of Saxony which the white became the selected color of the dresses. Before, the bride used dresses in vibrating colors to show with far their position in the company. Once the Victoria Queen broke the tradition and carried the white which went well to the new symbol of the purity and of the richness and to women of all the social classes the movement followed. During time earlier, blue was the color chosen to symbolize the purity.
This old poetry summarizes which people now thought of the marriage colors the other then white:
Married in the white, will have chosen you well.
Married in the gray, you will go remote.
Married in the black, you will wish yourselves back.
Married in red, you you will wish deaths.
Married in blue, you will be always true.
Married in pearl, you will live in a gyratory movement.
Married in green, ashamed to be considering,
Married in yellow, ashamed of the comrade.
Married in the brown one, you will live out of the city.
Married in the pink, your spirits will go down.
Recently, there was a tendency to again add the color in the industry of dress of marriage. While the popular color
is always the white which we saw a rise in the dresses enes ivory and even in those of pink-clearly, the mole or the champagne. To add a belt often coloured in dark or luminous colors is another tendency seen to break the tradition.
